Indigenous DramaturgIES Box
This book compiles 11 dramaturgies created in recent years by indigenous artists, or produced in a shared way between indigenous and non-indigenous partners, by authors from various parts of Brazil, as well as Chile and Argentina.
These are works that, besides affirming their own existence, enable the exercise of autofiction, survey historical facts that are rarely known to the public, bringing to light stories that are different from those that are usually hegemonically presented. They also propose a refinement of the cultural differences between the peoples, their cosmologies and myths, transmuting the mistaken perception of the indigenous being as unique and homogeneous. The dramaturgies presented, also, evidence contemporary issues, such as the resulting debates about the retaking of territories and gender issues.
